McGill Profiles

McGill Profiles on the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences website

Your site visitors are looking for information about the people in your department. They want to know: who are your faculty members? who are your staff members? grad students? what research areas do they specialize in? how can department members be contacted?

McGill Profiles — launched this past spring — makes it easy for site managers to present this information to site  visitors in a way that is attractively formatted and easy to navigate.

Top features of McGill Profiles:

  •  Grant department members access to maintain their own profile content
  •  Set up filterable fields that make it simple for your site visitors to organize and view profile lists in whatever way suits them best
  • Add a profiles search box
  • Import existing profile information from BANNER

Adding Profiles to your site is easy. Visit the Knowledge Base for more information, McGill Profiles – Overview.

Decommissioning of People Pages

People Pages will be decommissioned at the end of July 2016. McGill Profiles is the replace tool for managing biographical information on WMS websites.

Looking to promote your department’s Instagram channel on your website? Site managers now have the ability to add an Instagram icon to their Follow Site blocks in the WMS.

The Follow Site block is a preformatted block that makes it easy for site managers to add social media icons to WMS web pages. These icons help your site visitors find and interact with you on a variety of social media sites.

Activating a Follow Block or adding Instagram to an existing Follow Block is easy! Get detailed instructions in the Knowledge Base.

Creating Attractive Websites Using the WMS

CCS would like to extend thanks to all the site managers and editors who took the time to attend the special session on May 5, 2016 where we presented tools to create attractive sites. We were pleased to see your interest and we hope that you were inspired by the topics presented.

We would like to hear your feedback so if you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete the evaluation.

If you were unable to attend or would like to revisit certain topics, we invite you to watch the recording.
