What’s the Delhi-0 (What’s the deal?)

After 2 long days of flying, layovers and lost luggage (but not students) we find ourselves finally here in India. As we touched down in Delhi, we were quickly briefed on the India “Dos and Don’ts”. Do eat yogurt, lots of it. Do eat bananas, lots of them. And although Indian sauces and spices are very tasty… absolutely do NOT overeat them… or the street meat! Our first impressions are simple: Delhi is a city that revolves around “Controlled Chaos”. Overpopulation and a developing infrastructure lead people (including most of us) to believe that India is both hectic and disorganized. Judgments we have learned are not necessarily exact. They do have one thing right however; it certainly is hectic, however in some odd manner everything seems to make sense for the locals. As Tuktuks manoeuvre around motorcycles weaving in and out of cars dodging people running around rickshaws slowing down to avoid the occasional cow or monkey we were quick to realize that much like India itself, while to the outside world the driving may not make much sense, to the locals it does.
