Goodbye CenterStage Blogs, Hello Blogs.mcgill.ca

The blog functionality that you may have become accustomed to in CenterStage will not be available in D2.  Knowing that some of our users wish to continue blogging once CenterStage has been decommissioned, we are recommending Blogs.mcgill.ca as the new solution.

Blogs.mcgill.ca is a virtual space for individuals or groups who wish to publish, discuss or link to content, and have it shared privately or with the global online community.  This service is centrally supported by IT Services through the WordPress software platform. This platform provides a user-friendly, feature-rich, centralized system for building and publishing blogs at McGill. Click here for more information about this service, including how to submit a request for a new blog and training.

Any blog content currently existing in CenterStage will not be copied over to D2. Therefore, we ask that you please refrain from creating any new blogs in either existing or new CenterStage spaces. If you wish to have your blog content migrated to blogs.mcgill.ca and require any assistance with this process, please contact us at ecmcommunication.ccs@mcgill.ca.

Discussions not available in D2

As you may already be aware, the discussion functionality that is available in CenterStage will not be offered in D2. The good news is that Yammer, a private and secure enterprise social network which is integrated with McGill’s Office 365 portal, is now the recommended solution for your discussion needs. McGill’s Yammer is like a private Facebook site specifically for the McGill community. Use Yammer to share information, collaborate and make group decisions. Click here for more information.

Any discussion content currently existing in CenterStage will not be copied over to D2. If you wish to hold on to any of this content, you will need to save it elsewhere prior to having your space migrated to D2. Moreover, we also ask that you please refrain from creating any new discussions in either existing or new CenterStage spaces.
