MRT15’s CFD Analysis with STAR-CCM+


CD-adapco’s  CFD software, STAR-CCM+ , played a critical role in the development of the McGill Racing Team’s first aerodynamic package featured on MRT15. The package, consisting of front and rear wings, an under-tray, and side-pods, relied on the CFD software to comprehensively characterise the fluid behaviour with these components. Wind tunnel testing confirmed the robustness of the software, as the CFD results were within close proximity to that of reality. As the McGill Racing team pushes forward with the development of MRT16, STAR-CCM+ continues to be an essential design tool.
