Media Relations Coordinator Position

The Conference Board of Canada is currently seeking a Media Relations Coordinator for a 16-month contract position based in Ottawa, ON. This opportunity is ideal for a recent grad who has an interest in media relations/corporate communications and who can work well in a fast-paced, demanding role.

The responsibilities include:

  • Monitor media coverage of the organization in print, broadcast, online and social outlets and prepare regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) reports for staff and senior management.
  • Schedule, draft, and distribute media releases, conference and event advisories and other communications documents as assigned.
  • Respond to media inquiries and coordinate media interviews between journalists and Conference Board researchers and spokespersons, as required.
  • Coordinate content and production of quarterly InsideEdge e-Newsletter online and printed updates.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diplomaĆ©degree in Journalism/Communications/Public Relations and/or minimum two years of work experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline driven environment, prioritize and work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
