Part Time Job Opportunity: Translator at MACES

McGill Association of Continuing Education Students (MACES) is looking for a part time translator to translate and contextualise the Association’s website into French, as well as translate any new content that is added on a regular basis. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of the ‘context’ ‘culture’ and ‘nuances’ of translating the English language into French and vice versa, as opposed to a direct literal translation. The translator may be required to assist with the translation of organizational communications, marketing materials and other correspondence as the need arises.

JOB TITLE: Translator
TERM: Part-time
SALARY: To be discussed

·         Superior oral and written communication skills in both English and French
         Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks and
meet conflicting deadlines.

         Ability to adapt style to the type of documentation
         Strong attention to detail required

       Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Communications, or related field
       At least two (2) years’ related experience
