Internship, on campus, wide range of experience

The Marketing and Communications service of the School of Continuing Studies needs part-time help with news releases, articles and media relations with specialized journalists. This unpaid opening would be of interest to a current public relations student interested in gaining a wide range of experience on a continuing, part-time basis. Do you have a few hours a week to give until at least June?  The advantages are: experience for your CV, professional supervision, flexible part-time schedule, letters of recommendation, good contacts and networking opportunities. People taking this opportunity in the past have gone on to permanent employment. Preference will be given to candidates with availability to June and beyond. Paid internship at Web start-up – starting a.s.a.p.

I just had a visist from a partner in a new web-based start-up called oasiscoach.com. Ludovic Bourgoin and his colleagues have a small office in downtown Montreal, where they are  building a business dedicated to helping people find the best exercise courses and training on line. They are looking for an intern to join the team at least three days a week, starting as soon as possible. After a six-month internship, if all goes well, there is a strong possibility of being hired on permanently.

Candidates do not need any specific work experience, just be a reliable self-starter with good general communication abilities, analytical skills and an interest in business development. There will be sales involved, as well as writing (preferably English first, but must be able to function in French.) The Faculty of Music needs help doing an audit of its communication strategies with a view to expanding audiences for concerts in new and creative ways. This opportunity will appeal to a bilingual (oral) senior student or recent grad with a good strategic mind. Start and end dates will depend on the candidate’s availability, but could be around 15-20 hours per week, starting some time in summer and lasting about one semester. Media Relations Coordinator Position

The Conference Board of Canada is currently seeking a Media Relations Coordinator for a 16-month contract position based in Ottawa, ON. This opportunity is ideal for a recent grad who has an interest in media relations/corporate communications and who can work well in a fast-paced, demanding role.

The responsibilities include:

  • Monitor media coverage of the organization in print, broadcast, online and social outlets and prepare regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) reports for staff and senior management.
  • Schedule, draft, and distribute media releases, conference and event advisories and other communications documents as assigned.

Summer Internship with Luxury Fashion Brand

For the fashion minded PR graduate, Michael Kors has an interesting opportunity. Michael Kors is a  rapidly growing global luxury lifestyle brand led by an  award-winning designer.

The Montreal office is looking for a PR program graduate interested in fashion, eager to learn, and ready to participate in tasks including packaging samples, unpacking trunks, and setting up presentations.
