The Graduate Architecture Students’ Association (GASA) at McGill University has initiated a student-run reading group. Our goal with this Race|Space reading group is to begin raising consciousness on the issues of systemic racism that exist in our institutions and our profession; and to learn how to engage in anti-racist practices as students, teachers, professionals and citizens. We understand that reading alone isn’t enough, however we acknowledge that (re-)education is the first step toward positive change. The outcome of each discussion will include actionable steps that can be taken as a response to the issues addressed.
