15 Feb 2016 – The Religious Education & Security Blog is Online!
Welcome to Religious Education & Security! This blog offers a platform for to discuss policy challenges that surface in an era of violent religious extremism that has seen education become a matter of global security. The impetus for this blog is an intensive training course held at McGill University in June of 2015 that contained both an undergraduate university level stream and one for professional education practitioners. The course was delivered through McGill University’s Initiative in Globalization and the World’s Religions, a partnership between the university’s Faculty of Religious Studies and the Tony Blair Faith Foundation and funded through a project sponsored by the Religious Freedom Fund of Canada’s Office of Religious Freedom. Most of the initial blog entries and reports available on this blog have been contributed by teaching team members and student participants in the June 2015 training course.
