About us

As scientists, we spend years developing our expertise. But clearly, our training doesn’t prepare us to share our knowledge with non-experts. Spell your Science is a student initiative to bridge this gap. The goal:

Providing a convivial starting point for McGill graduate students to develop science communication skills

The first series of workshops took place in August 2018, mixing presentations from guest speakers, practical sessions and peer reviews. All along, the participants were invited to write a text about their project or a related subject. This blog is here to publish these posts.

Spell your Science has been co-founded by Marie Franquin (PhD candidate in Neuroscience) and Alexandre Trottier (PhD student in Family Medicine). This first edition would not have been possible without the financial support of the McGill Alumni association and the Post-Graduate Students’ Society.
